As you may already know, this is a site devoted to helping lawyers, doctors, and other professionals refer cases to one another — in a modern way.
If you’re wondering how you can get started on here, don’t worry! This post will take you step-by-step through everything you’ll need to know.

Step 1 – Join the Community
In order to start enjoying the features on ReferOver.com, you’ll need to sign up and create your profile.
With your profile, you’ll be able to leave reviews for business listings, create your own business listing, and you’ll have access to your own dashboard (more on the dashboard later!).
The simplest way to sign up on ReferOver.com is to go to the top of the header and click “Join Now/Login.”


At this point, click “Not a member? Sign up.”

Now you’ll have two options to sign up…
Option 1 – You can create your own Username and have your password emailed to you (we’ll cover how to change your password later).
Option 2 – You can sign up using your Facebook credentials.
Option 2 is quicker and easier if you’re already signed in to your Facebook profile because the sign up will be automatic and logging back in will be automatic as well.
That being said, if you plan on sharing your ReferOver profile with other people so that they can manage the profile as well, then you may prefer choosing Option 1. That way you don’t have to share your Facebook credentials with them.

If you chose Option 1, then you’ll automatically be sent an email with your password. You can use this password to sign in to your new account.
This takes us to…
Step 2 – Update Your Profile
Since you’re signed up and signed in, let’s update your profile!
Simply hover over your profile name and click Update Profile.

If you’re on your mobile device, then you will need to scroll down to the Footer > Click “Dashboard” > Click the 3 horizontal lines in the top right corner > Click “My Profile”
Now you can update your profile details and also change your password!
Step 3 – Create a Listing
Ready to start getting some referrals? Well you first need to create a business listing!
To do this, simply click +Add Listing, which can be seen at the top of every page or after you click the three horizontal lines on your mobile device.
You’ll then have the option to select the plan that works best for you. There is the FREE plan, BUSINESS plan, and TYCOON plan.
Which Plan is Right for You?
There are a number of significant differences between each plan, however, the biggest difference between FREE and the two premium plans is that the premiums allow for you to choose which tags/keywords you’d like to show up for in search results.
With the tags/keywords feature, you’re much more likely to stand out from the crowd and attract the perfect referral.
Don’t Let Your Listing Expire
It’s also worth noting that the FREE plan automatically renews each month. With the two premium plans, you’ll have the option to either (1) only pay for the duration of the plan (1 month or 1 year) and have the listing expire; or (2) set “recurring payment” so that your listing does not expire and is renewed each month or year.

Be sure to check out the annual plans. If you choose the BUSINESS plan, then you’ll get one month free. And if you choose the TYCOON plan, you’ll get the entire arsenal and 3 months free!
Tips for Creating a Listing
After choosing your plan, you’ll then need to create your listing. Filling everything out is pretty self explanatory. But, there are a couple of things worth noting.
First, the “Feature Image” will be the image shown in search results.
Second, the Listing Features (after you select your category) are helpful because they allow for searchers to filter their results quickly. For example, a lawyer may search for a chiropractor and then filter the chiropractors by the feature “Testify” so that the lawyer can find a chiropractor who would be willing to testify.
Keep in mind, Listing Features are different from tags/keywords. Listing Features are broad and tags/keywords (if you have a premium plan) allow for you to show up on more hyper-targeted searches.
It’s also worth noting that every time you edit your listing, your Listing Features will automatically be deselected. So, be sure to select your Listing Features each time you edit the listing.
After you have submitted your listing, it will be sent to us for review. While it is under review, you should move on to the next step!
Step 4 – Check Out Your Dashboard
Your dashboard will be the hub for all of your listings, reviews, and stats. One way to access your dashboard is to go to the top of the page.

And if you’re on mobile, then you can simply scroll down to the Footer and click on Dashboard.
Step 5 – Promote Your Listing
Once your listing is approved, then you’re off to the races!
Keep in mind, ReferOver.com is a merit-based system. So, if you want your listing to be ranked higher, then you need to get positive reviews. And the more positive reviews you get, the higher you’ll rank!
To do this, be sure to reach out to people you’ve worked with and ask that they review you.
For example, if you’re a chiropractor, then you may want to reach out to the lawyers you’ve worked with and have them leave you a review.
With these positive reviews, you’ll rank higher and also give other lawyers some compelling reasons why they should also refer cases to you!
Want to take your promotion to the next level? If so, then you can also use your dashboard to run ads that promote your listings as well (it’s SUPER simple!).
For instance, if you have zero reviews or if someone else outranks you, then you can run “Top-of-Search” ads. These ads will put you at the top of the search results (and indicate that your listing is being promoted) for searches in your local area.
